246: gulp

I am Officially Freaking Out about this upcoming television appearance. I have a stomach ache.

I need to go up to my workroom and make a decision about what project I am going to do.

I know, I know: it's A Good Problem To Have. I am grateful that all of my hard work is finally starting to pay off. Things are looking good. It's All Good Stuff.

And I am a mess! Hardly sleeping, eating brownies for breakfast and Cheez-Its for lunch.

I'll feel much better once I have chosen a project and get some work done on it.

Off I go to the workroom. Hopefully I'll get somewhere and not just stare at the wall, paralyzed, like I have been doing!

I wish that I knew you in real life. Cause if I knew you in real life I take a hold of your shoulders and give you a little shake. And, if I knew you in real life I'd say "Stop freaking out!" If I knew you in real life I say something incredibly insightful about the fact that creating, designing and improving upon are what you do best. I continue my insightful moment with words that remind you that the world will find you every bit as creative, funny, charming and inspiring as those that know you best.

Hmmmm. . . too bad I don't know you in real life and can't say those things.

oh dear, you've gotten your knickers in a twist. this is all temporary, so by [fill in the date] you'll have made your decision and be ok again.

maybe it's all relative - the different choices only cause issues when they're in context with each other. when i'm in the store and can't choose between three red fabrics, it is only an issue when they are all together. once i choose one and take it home the others don't matter. i hope that makes sense.

maybe, choose the project that you are most comfortable with so you're not struggling with it in a new environment when you're on tv.

Silly you-you have absolutely no reason to worry! I have the happy circumstance of knowing you in person and you are very easy to be around, easy to talk to and well-duh-you're really talented! You are going to blow this thing out of the water! And you deserve it. :)

I so understand you are freaking nervous, but no reason to be. You will do great and will have a wonderful adventure with lots of exposure and only good things.

Well, I'm loving the apron...how about that? Of course then you'd probably have to make a pattern... :)

I'm guessing after you caress Sugar Snap a bit more, it might just come to you. Either way, I know you'll be great.

I wonder if I put your name in my TiVo if it would find you. Probably not, it's not usually that smart.

If I were you I would be super nervous right up to and during the filming...I know it's a good problem...but come on, TV? Who wouldn't be racked with nerves?

Now you, take a deep breath, have a SALAD for lunch (and a brownie)then just start, you know you will be fine. Wish I could see your local TV...but I am about, oh, 3,000 miles away or something like that!

Oh, and I love the chicken and monkey on your wall..cool!
Do I see a self-portrait on that wall? I LOVE IT! I also agree with the post that said the apron was lovely and could be the project you are looking for :)

So, I have a tattoo. You don't know me so this probably doesn't shock you but it SHOCKS people who know me. ANYway, most people think that my tattoo is just one more cliched Chinese character tattoo (because those were really big back when I got my tattoo and probably still are) whose meaning I probably don't really know. But it isn't... It's a Taoist symbol. In Chinese it means "morning" but the Taoist meaning is basically, "when you wake up each day you get to decide how your day will be." It's basically "Today is the first day of the rest of your life." Which is the point of this long, rambling comment: we have a lot in common. : )

You'll be fabulous!! Wear that gorgeous new apron and you'll look fabulous too! Maybe you could put a link to the show on your blog? I'd love to watch it.
